Remote Shell Access

The CS Department Linux workstations accept remote shell access to authorized users via SSH. The SSH client is installed on all Linux, Windows, and Mac computers. Cygwin is our recommended SSH client on Windows.

Remote access to VMs

Remote access to virtual machines in the Big Data Lab is only possible through the Department VPN or SSH tunneling. Visit the VPN client setup page for instructions on setting up a VPN connection on a Windows machine.
